Frequently asked questions
The Dutch courses take place in small groups of a maximum of 6 people. These are nearly private lessons and I will provide plenty of individual attention. Small group lessons have many advantages: it is very comfortable and fun to learn with fellow students; your fellow students often have the same questions as you; in these small groups you will still get a deal of individual attention; the price is many times lower.
I usually have a waiting list for private lessons and sometimes you can join a group right away. Just contact me for the possibilities!
Take a look at the course overview for learning Dutch in Oegstgeest. In addition to online classes, I also organize classes in Oegstgeest. This offer changes regularly and also depends on demand.
The language school is located in Oegstgeest, near Leiden, but there are also online lessons. The students follow the lessons from Oegstgeest and Wassenaar, but also from, e.g. Qatar and Chile. The address in Oegstgeest is: Dorpscentrum Oegstgeest, Lijtweg 9, Oegstgeest.
Because there is a great need for Spanish speakers to learn Dutch, I also give Dutch courses with explanations in Spanish. I will know exactly why you say the things you say, and I will explain quickly and effectively. I also help you with the pronunciation, so that it may become many times easier. You will be in a group that understands what you find difficult, and that makes learning Dutch a lot more comfortable, and therefore easier.
New courses generally start in September, but also later in the year. That depends on the demand and can vary per course. You can often join in-between starting periods. Please contact me and we will discuss the possibilities.
Please contact me for an intake and tell me how you have been learning Dutch so far. You can take a test, and we can speak for a bit. Hereafter, I will provide an assessment of your level.
Missing a class, be it due to illness, work or vacation, is no problem with the online lessons. I always make a video so you can watch the lesson later. Of course you can also log in from your holiday address.
Are you taking classes in Oegstgeest? Perhaps I can send you a video, or you can e-mail me whichever questions you may have. Please contact me so that we may find a solution.
UNITXT & taal (you say: unitext en taal) is a language school for Dutch / NT2. The language school is founded in 2012 and located in Oegstgeest near Leiden. The lessons are online and in Oegstgeest. I am the owner: Patricia van Helsdingen and I will be instructing you as a certified and experienced NT2 teacher. All classes are taught by me and I know all my students personally. I have courses for expats in English and also for Spanish speakers with Spanish as the language of instruction.
All courses are taught by me: Patricia van Helsdingen. I am a certified language trainer for Dutch/NT2 and a sworn translator for Spanish and Portuguese. I have more than ten years of full-time teaching experience at several renowned institutions, the last few years at my own language school UNITXT. At all these institutes I have worked with different levels and materials and learned how to best explain my language. The institutes where I have worked are Leiden University, Regina Coeli (the nuns of Vught), the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht and several foundations.
I provide the online courses via Zoom. Additionally, everyone gets a book that comes with a website offering audio examples and exercises. I am able to see and hear my students very clearly and they also hear me loud and clear. I provide both verbal and witten explanations on the whiteboard. Students take turns speaking, I help with your pronunciation and they can ask questions. You can submit writing assignments and will receive feedback. You do homework and if you want, you can watch the video of the lesson.
Extra: I regularly organize trips and drinks to meet each other in real life and to get some extra practice.
